About Dr. Nordyke and Wound Honey

Wound Honey and First Aid Honey were developed by Dr. Randolph Nordyke, a podiatrist located in Ventura, California. Having a compelling desire to help his patients with chronic wounds and infections, Dr. Nordyke began to study alternative wound care solutions. After extensive research, he found Active Manuka Honey to have the ideal healing and nourishing qualities he was looking for, and began to develop Wound Honey. He took the powerful, natural healing properties of Active Manuka Honey, and combined it with Aloe Vera to help soothe the wound and reduce swelling, and Vitamin B (Panthenol) to add essential moisture to the wound. Wound Honey was first used in his own practice, and after much success, was put on the market for the public.

Dr. Nordyke graduated from Sonoma State University in 1978 with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Mathematics. Dr. Nordyke went on to receive his medical degree from The California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California in 1982, and completed his medical residency in Santa Monica and Los Angeles, California. Dr. Nordyke is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and a member of the American Sports Medicine Assocation, and is also certified in Cryo-Surgery of the foot and ankle.

In addition to being a physician at his private practice in Ventura, California, Dr. Nordyke has an extensive background in consumer product development. In 1989 Dr. Nordyke founded Nordyke Laboratories where he developed two medical-related products. The company and its product line were acquired by Hickory Industries in 1992.

Dr. Nordyke started Eras Natural Sciences in 2008 to develop and market Wound Honey and First Aid Honey.
